Thanks to the benevolence of the folks at Beer Advocate, I was fortunate to be able to attend all three sessions of this year’s American Craft Beer Fest held at the Seaport World Trade center in Boston. This is, in my opinion, a perfect setting for this event. This large conference center sits right on Boston’s waterfront with easy access to mass transit with plenty of hotels and restaurants nearby. The weather last weekend was also perfect; sunny and warm.

I was one of about 3,000 people that attended the first session of the American Craft Beer Fest (ACBF) in Boston last night. This annual event, the East Coast’s largest beer festival, is being held at the Seaport World Trade Center. Today there will be two additional sessions and each of these session is likely to draw around 5,000 craft beer seekers.
I will be covering the largest beer fest on the East Coast this weekend for The HopPress. The American Craft Brewers Festival is the largest beer festival east of the Mississippi… over 15,000 attendees last year, and I will be front and center for all three session this coming Friday and Saturday. I will be joined by two other respected craft beer writers (and fellow HopPress writers too) for the festivities… Carla Companion, aka The Beer Babe (http://www.thebeerbabe.com/), and Josh Christie (http://brewsandbooks.com/). Look for many pictures and several articles on The HopPress Web site… www.hoppress.com.
My latest featured article for RateBeer’s The Hop Press… first one of 2010… posted on Saturday, January 2nd.
We are at that time of the year when nearly everyone makes some sort of a resolution, pledge or promise for the New Year. These typically are changes that we want or need to make going into the New Year. If you are like me, then some of these resolutions tend to repeat from year to year and, generally, I am not all that successful at keeping these sometimes hastily made affirmations. In this article, I will not be bearing my soul to share all of the resolutions that I have made for 2010, but instead will take a brief look at the history of resolutions and the New Year celebration and then talk more about how your choice of beer can significantly affect one of the more commonly held resolutions.
