I just finished a bottle of Weyerbacher Thirteen… their 13th anniversary Imperial Stout. At 13.6% ABV… it’ll *rock* you!! Aroma is malty and slightly sweet with elements of caramel, toffee, lightly roasted malts and some alcohol. During the few days that I was there, I was able to add an incredible 16 new beers to my Ratebeer ratings list. Almost all of these new beers were sampled at the restaurants and bars in and around the Mandalay [...] I stopped by here a few weeks ago to check it out… in downtown Richmond, Vermont. My son had passed along a tip that they had a decent beer selection… very true! The owners were extremely nice and knowledgeable about the beer that they carried… pointed out the new arrivals and expressed an interest in [...] Pours a quite dark and hazy orange-amber in color with almost no head or carbonation. Aroma is very hoppy with citrus/grapefruit, but balanced with a nice sweetish malty background. Flavor is initially strong with hops… plenty of citrus and pine… slightly sweet too. Aroma is strong of Belgian yeast, spices (cloves, nutmeg) and a light fruitiness. Flavor is very fruity… apples, melon… and slightly sweet.
