Pours a quite dark and hazy orange-amber in color with almost no head or carbonation. Aroma is very hoppy with citrus/grapefruit, but balanced with a nice sweetish malty background. Flavor is initially strong with hops… plenty of citrus and pine… slightly sweet too. Eventually it is all about the hops, however, and those and their bitterness continue into the lingering finish. Does not have the palate/body that would truly define it as a great IIPA, but this is a good one. Rock Art continues to improve and impress with their “Extreme” series of brews.
